Empowering youth with Critical Thinking and Media Literacy in the post-truth era

‘Actively Critical – Critically Active,’ an 18-month Erasmus+ project spanning Germany, Poland, Ireland, and Portugal, culminating in a 7-day Youth Exchange in Germany, fostering cross-cultural connections and inspiring participants to organize local events with support from partners in Erfurt, Poznan, Dublin, and Lisbon.

what we aim

This project aims to develop the ability to critically analyze issues related to youth participation in decision-making, fundamental rights, and shared European values; foster participation in a network dedicated to promoting the values of Critical Thinking and Active Citizenship; enhance skills in media literacy, spotting fake news, and information literacy with strategies for improvement; initiate and contribute to the launch of an online campaign aimed at promoting Critical Thinking; and provide participants with an enjoyable cultural experience in Germany to learn more about other cultures.

HOW TO SPOT FAKE NEWS
This project has been just a fun ride full of learning, practicing and thinking outside of the box. First, the international mobility was amazing! We learned about digital competencies while challenging ourselves with chatgpt, making new friendships that have lasted until today and having lots of fun creating awareness campaigns related to the topic. And from then on, the local events have been an important part in consolidating all I've learned. By applying these tools, giving workshops about research engines, playing games about misconceptions and critical thinking and spreading the knowledge on digital competencies, we foster a sense of learning community that continues to grow each day.
